Now that a report has surfaced claiming that there\u2019s a sequel in development, movie fans are dying to know the answer to one question: Will The Goonies 2 <\/em>happen?<\/p>\n Hollywood Life<\/strong> has compiled all the latest details about the possible Goonies<\/em> sequel, below!<\/p>\n The U.S. Sun<\/em><\/a> reported in September 2024 that the \u201cideas\u201d for the sequel were in progress.<\/p>\n \u201cThe plan is to start developing the ideas for the follow up next summer, with a possible release date of 2026 or 2027,\u201d a source told the outlet. \u201cThe original is so culturally significant, Warner Bros\u2019 know they have to get it totally right.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider continued by pointing out that the team in place to work on the project \u201care so excited.\u201d It\u2019s not currently clear who is in the crew for the film, however.
