Lady Gaga<\/strong> wants her fans to know she is happy\u2014thanks to finding her \u201cmissing piece,\u201d fianc\u00e9 Michael Polansky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a new interview published on Thursday, Sept. 5, the Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/em> star, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, reflected on her relationship with the tech entrepreneur a little more than a month after confirming their engagement in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had never met anyone like Michael,\u201d Gaga, 38, said about Polansky, 46, in her Vogue<\/em> <\/a>October cover story. \u201cHe\u2019s so smart and so kind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis life and my life are very different,\u201d the actor and singer continued. \u201cHe\u2019s a very private guy, and he\u2019s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other. But I think what I want my fans to know is that I\u2019m just, like, so happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaga shared that her mental health has come a long way from where it was during the release of her last album, Chromatica<\/em>, in 2020, thanks to Polansky\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe missing piece in my life was having real love,\u201d she said after describing how she was in \u201ca really dark place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut everything started to change. Because I had a real friend who saw the ways in which I was unhappy and why. And he wasn\u2019t afraid to truly hold my hand. And get to know me. On a very deep level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaga, who was first romantically linked to Polansky around New Year\u2019s Eve 2019 and later went Instagram official in early 2020, revealed that it was her mom, Cynthia Germanotta<\/strong>, who first crossed paths with the businessman due to a \u201cphilanthropic overlap\u201d and told her, \u201cI think I just met your husband.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner recalled thinking, \u201cI\u2019m not ready to meet my husband!\u201d<\/p>\n

In December 2019, Gaga and her soon-to-be husband finally came face-to-face for the very first time when they both attended Napster cofounder Sean Parker<\/strong>\u2019s 40th birthday party in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Polansky shared his first impression of Gaga, saying, \u201cI was struck immediately by her warmth and openness \u2014 she was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s relationship quickly blossomed, and as the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the duo quarantined in the Oscar nominee\u2019s Malibu mansion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really kind of special,\u201d Gaga said. \u201cI\u2019d been so focused on my career since I was a teenager. And the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship. I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me \u2014 outside of Lady Gaga.\u201d<\/p>\n

Polansky agreed, adding, \u201cWe had this amazing chapter of a weird kind of normalcy that\u2019s essential for any relationship to develop in a real way \u2014 taking walks, making coffee, hanging out with the dogs, reading books together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaga revealed that Polansky proposed in April after a day of rock climbing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kind of thought I was going to have to do this all by myself \u2014 forever. And that was really scary. Because it\u2019s a big life. And I don\u2019t think anyone really knows what it feels like unless you\u2019re in it,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t have to do this alone anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
