Nathan Gallagher<\/strong> lost a loved one recently, which he revealed during the Monday, September 2, episode of the Bravo series. While opening up in a confessional, the season 9 Deckland explained how he found out that a close friend died following a battle with cancer.<\/p>\n\u201cSo, I get this text saying that my friend has passed away from cancer,\u201d Nathan told the cameras. \u201cI knew he had cancer, but the night before I came to join the boat, we were out drinking. He wasn\u2019t drinking but he seemed OK. Thinking about the memories and things like that, it\u2019s a lot of information to gather at once and I\u2019m just pushing that aside for now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later on in the episode, Nathan opened up about why his friend\u2019s death affected him. He pointed out that his mother experienced a cancer scare.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mom was going through tests for cancer recently,\u201d Nathan said. \u201cShe\u2019s been cleared now, thankfully. I found out through my sister. My mom didn\u2019t tell me directly. Grief and things like this isn\u2019t something we talk about. I definitely tend to push people away. I\u2019m doing what my mom does.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nathan also spoke with his fellow Deckhand\u00a0Gael Cameron<\/strong>. During their heart-to-heart, Nathan confessed that he didn\u2019t \u201cknow why [he\u2019s] so sensitive\u201d to the situation.<\/p>\n\u201cWho cares if you\u2019re sensitive, man?\u201d Gael told Nathan. \u201cYou\u2019re going through s**t. It\u2019s OK. You\u2019re allowed to be sad sometimes.\u201d Nathan then pointed out to his co-star that it\u2019s \u201creally f**king hard\u201d dealing with this, adding, \u201cI\u2019m really struggling to cope with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The tearful conversation brought Gael and Nathan closer, as she pointed out that this was \u201cdefinitely a different side of Nathan\u201d to see.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe obviously has a very sensitive spot that he doesn\u2019t show that often, and it just hurts to see him upset,\u201d Gael said during a confessional. \u201cI feel like Nathan was there for me when I was going through a hard time with my ex, and I just want him to know that I\u2019m here for him too.\u201d<\/p>\n
Their co-star Joe Bradley<\/strong> conveyed a similar sentiment about Nathan. During his respective confessional, Joe acknowledged that this \u201cmust for so hard for Nathan to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cLike, I couldn\u2019t remotely imagine,\u201d Joe admitted. \u201cHe\u2019s a brother to me at this point, so I\u2019m gonna be there for Nathan. Whatever he needs, we\u2019ll get done. I want to show him that he\u2019s got me.\u201d<\/p>\n
