Elle Macpherson<\/a><\/strong> has revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to take \u201can intuitive, heart-led, holistic approach.\u201d The 60-year-old model shared that she decided against \u201cstandard medical solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n In an interview with Women\u2019s Weekly<\/span><\/i><\/a>, the 1988 Sports Illustrated<\/em> cover star said her diagnosis came as \u201ca shock; it was unexpected.\u201d She continued, \u201cIt really gave me an opportunity to dig deep in my inner sense to find a solution that worked for me\u2026I realized I was going to need my own truth, my belief system to support me through it. And that\u2019s what I did. So, it was a wonderful exercise in being true to myself, trusting myself and trusting the nature of my body and the course of action that I had chosen.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n In her memoir Elle<\/em><\/a>, she admitted that choosing not to pursue conventional treatments was challenging, and \u201csaying no\u201d to her \u201cinner sense\u201d was even harder. Her family was divided about her decision. In her book, she wrote about how her son Cy<\/strong>, 21, opposed chemotherapy because he believed that \u201cchemo kills you,\u201d while her other son, Flynn<\/strong><\/a>, 36, was not supportive of her choice. As for her former partner, Arki Busson<\/strong>, he was not in favor but remained \u201creally supportive.\u201d<\/p>\n Although her children had their concerns, Macpherson acknowledged that they still stood by her throughout the process, despite feeling \u201cvery scared.\u201d Reflecting on her decision in her memoir, she added, \u201cSometimes an authentic choice from the heart makes no sense to others \u2026 but it doesn\u2019t have to. People thought\u2028I was crazy but I knew I had to make\u2028a choice that truly resonated with\u2028me. To me, that meant addressing emotional as well as physical factors associated with breast cancer. It \u2028was time for deep, inner reflection. And that took courage.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n Her diagnosis came seven years ago, and since then, she has devoted every moment to healing while being cared for by medical professionals.
