Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s running mate, JD Vance<\/strong>, mocked Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 recent CNN interview in a new social media message. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday, August 29, the 40-year-old Ohio senator compared Harris\u2019 remarks to then-Miss South Carolina\u2019s 2007 Miss Teen USA speech.<\/p>\n \u201cBREAKING: I have gotten ahold of the full Kamala Harris CNN interview,\u201d Vance tweeted. In the video that he shared, former Miss South Carolina Caitlin Upton meandered around a question about why a fraction of Americans couldn\u2019t locate the country on a map.<\/p>\n Vance has criticized Harris, 59, and her policies throughout the 2024 presidential race. Hours before her CNN interview aired, Vance blasted Harris in a separate tweet, writing, \u201cThanks to Kamala Harris and her incompetence, a lot of low-income seniors are struggling to get the food they need. Vance, specifically, was blasted by celebrities and Democrats alike for an on-air statement that he made in 2021 about women and children. At the time, he spoke with Fox News\u2019 Tucker Carlson and described Democrats as \u201ca bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they\u2019ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just a basic fact,\u201d he added during the interview. \u201cYou look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg<\/strong><\/a>, [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/strong><\/a>] \u2014 the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we\u2019ve turned our country over to people who don\u2019t really have a direct stake in it?\u201d<\/p>\n Harris\u2019 supporters have referred to Vance\u2019s comments, including U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. During the Democratic National Convention earlier this month, the 42-year-old former naval officer slammed Vance\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n \u201cJD Vance is one of those guys who thinks if you don\u2019t live the life that he has in mind for you, then you don\u2019t count,\u201d Buttigieg \u2014 who is now a father of two \u2014 said. \u201cSomeone who said that if you don\u2019t have kids, you have, quote, \u2018No physical commitment to the future of this country.’\u201d<\/p>\n Buttigieg then addressed Vance directly by saying, \u201cYou know, Senator, when I deployed to Afghanistan, I didn\u2019t have kids then. Many of the men and women who went outside the wire with me didn\u2019t have kids either. But let me tell you, our commitment to the future of this country was pretty damn physical.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
