The new Jurassic World<\/em> film from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment received an official title on Thursday morning, along with a pair of first-look photos starring Scarlett Johansson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Director Gareth Edwards<\/strong>\u2019 movie, set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025, is titled Jurassic World Rebirth<\/em>. Edwards will direct from a script by David Koepp<\/strong>, who also wrote the original Jurassic Park<\/em> released in 1993.<\/p>\n

The seventh film in the 31-year-old franchise will feature an ensemble cast, including Jonathan Bailey<\/strong> and Mahershala Ali<\/strong>, who were also shown in the first looks, alongside Rupert Friend<\/strong>, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo<\/strong>, Luna Blaise<\/strong>, David Iacono<\/strong>, Audrina Miranda<\/strong>, Philippine Velge<\/strong>, Bechir Sylvain<\/strong>, and Ed Skrein<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The studio unveiled the movie\u2019s logo and a snippet of music from the film\u2019s theme in a post shared on X<\/a>, along with photos from the movie. One image shows Johansson and Bailey\u2019s characters crouching in tall grass, while another shows Ali\u2019s character shouting while holding a flare.<\/p>\n

According to the official summary, the film is set five years after the events of Colin Trevorrow<\/strong>\u2019s Jurassic World Dominion<\/em>, when \u201cthe planet\u2019s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.\u201d The previous installment hit theaters in June 2022 and starred Chris Pratt<\/strong> and Bryce Dallas Howard<\/strong>, alongside Jurassic Park<\/em> returnees Laura Dern<\/strong>, Jeff Goldblum<\/strong>, and Sam Neill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived,\u201d the synopsis continues. \u201cThe three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johansson plays covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world\u2019s three most massive dinosaurs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Zora\u2019s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that\u2019s been hidden from the world for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frank Marshall<\/strong> and Patrick Crowley<\/strong>, longtime forces in the Jurassic<\/em> franchise, produce Jurassic World Rebirth<\/em>, with Steven Spielberg<\/strong>, Denis L. Stewart<\/strong>, and Jim Spencer<\/strong> serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
