Brooke Shields<\/strong> has always opened up her extensive closet to her daughters, so when it came time for her high school graduation, Grier Hammond Henchy<\/strong> seized the opportunity to bring back a special dress of her mom\u2019s, who once said, \u201cNothing is off limits.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHer graduation dress was my first wedding dress,\u201d Shields said of the gown she wore to marry tennis ace Andre Agassi<\/strong> in 1997.<\/p>\n And although their marriage didn\u2019t work out, Shields\u2014who called her first husband \u201ca good guy\u201d\u2014said the dress felt \u201clike a big full-circle moment\u201d that \u201chonors something,\u201d adding, \u201cI think that\u2019s healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n Shields first wore the corseted ivory satin gown when she married the tennis player\u2014whom she divorced in 1999 before marrying Grier\u2019s dad, Chris Henchy<\/strong>, in 2001\u2014but Grier made some changes to make the dress her own.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had to re-bone it a little bit so it was tight and sleek,\u201d said Grier, 18, who just began her first year at Wake Forest University. \u201cWe took out all the poof because I didn\u2019t want it poofy. And we made it strapless.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe looked great in it,\u201d said the 59-year-old star. \u201cIt\u2019s such an honor when they want to wear your stuff. Normally they don\u2019t think I\u2019m cool.\u201d<\/p>\n When Shields sat down with Oprah Winfrey<\/strong> as part of Oprah Daily\u2019s \u201cThe Life You Want\u201d class, she shared that one of her daughters was horrified at the amount of dust in her mom\u2019s closet. \u201cIf you\u2019re not going to wear this stuff, I\u2019m gonna wear it!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n In addition to the 1997 wedding gown, the college freshman and IMG model also walked the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute red carpet in a black Richard Tyler gown that Shields wore to a 2006 ball when Grier was just six months old. She also sparkled in one of her mom\u2019s old gold dresses earlier that year.<\/p>\n In 2021, Rowan Francis Henchy<\/strong>\u2014Brooke\u2019s firstborn\u2014chose to wear her mom\u2019s scarlet red dress, also designed by Richard Tyler, to her high school prom.<\/p>\n \u201cI was downstairs in New York, going through a bunch of her old dresses, making a TikTok, and tried this red dress on. I didn\u2019t really want to go through the process of finding a prom dress.
