Despite growing up in a wealthy family, thanks to their father\u2019s work in the entertainment industry, Lyle and Erik claimed during their court trials that they suffered from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse throughout their childhood.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">The Menendez family story became a high-profile case, and now Netflix, along with the creators who worked on the <em>Dahmer<\/em> series starring <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/evan-peters\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Evan Peters<\/a><\/strong>, is set to release a series based on their case. The show will star <strong>Nicholas Alexander Chavez<\/strong> (Lyle),<strong> Cooper Koch <\/strong>(Erik), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2021\/07\/07\/penelope-cruz-plunging-swimsuit-javier-bardem-family-photos\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Javier Bardem<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(Jos\u00e9), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/tag\/chloe-sevigny\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Chlo\u00eb Sevigny<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(Mary Louise, also known as, \u201cKitty\u201d), and more in leading roles.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe title=\"MONSTERS: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story | Official Teaser | Netflix\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fKfxZrPm3EI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fKfxZrPm3EI?si=abhgojZQNNOl41q8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">official trailer<\/a>, released on Tuesday, August 27, shows the Menendez family posing for a portrait while the parents\u2019 voices play in the background. \u201cI need to know what\u2019s going on with you and the boys,\u201d Mary Louise says. Jos\u00e9 responds, \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d After more conversation, Jos\u00e9 whispers, \u201cIt\u2019s over, it\u2019s done\u2026 I\u2019m going to fix this family.\u201d In the next scene, the brothers, bathed in blue light, share an embrace as one says, \u201cIt\u2019s just us now, we\u2019re on our own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">The show will be part of the crime anthology series <em>Monsters<\/em>, which initially began with executive producer <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/ryan-murphy\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">Ryan Murphy\u2019s<\/a> <\/strong>release of <em>Dahmer<\/em>, detailing the case of serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer.
