After reports surfaced about a possible romance brewing between Ben Affleck<\/strong> and Kathleen \u201cKick\u201d Kennedy<\/strong><\/a>, just days after Jennifer Lopez<\/strong> filed for divorce, Affleck\u2019s representative quickly set the record straight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no truth to any of it. I don\u2019t know if they even know each other,\u201d said the actor\u2019s spokesperson, Jen Allen<\/strong>, in a statement on Tuesday, August 27.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, multiple sources told PEOPLE<\/em> that Affleck, 52, and Kennedy, 36, had been \u201cspending time together.\u201d One source mentioned that Robert F. Kennedy\u2019s <\/strong>eldest<\/span> daughter has always had a crush on the actor, saying, \u201cKick\u2019s celeb crush has always been Ben.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, another insider contradicted these claims, insisting, \u201cI don\u2019t think they even know each other. There\u2019s definitely nothing going on,\u201d which seemed to align more with the truth.<\/p>\n

An insider who spoke to Us Weekly<\/em> also echoed the sentiment that \u201cBen is not dating Kick,\u201d adding that while Affleck \u201cmight know her in passing,\u201d he is \u201cnot dating anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite these denials, rumors continued to circulate after Page Six<\/em><\/a> reported that the pair had been recently spotted at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and other hotspots. This speculation led to increased public interest in Kennedy, with some fans even digging up an unrelated 2012 interview in Town & Country<\/em> where she recounted a gruesome story about her father beheading a whale.<\/p>\n

While it appears that Affleck is not starting a new relationship at this time, a source told PEOPLE<\/em> <\/a>that he is \u201cdoing well and is very focused\u201d in the wake of Lopez\u2019s divorce filing. The source added, \u201cHe thrives when he has work projects. He\u2019s been great when it comes to the kids too. He\u2019s doing exactly what he wants. He seems very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez filed to end their marriage last week, citing their date of separation as April 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind,\u201d another source shared. \u201cShe wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It\u2019s been almost torture for her to wait around.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, after filing for divorce, Lopez \u201cseems relieved,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
