What Is \u2018Lonely Planet\u2019 About?<\/h2>\n

The film follows Laura\u2019s character, Katherine, \u201ca reclusive [who] novelist arrives at a writer\u2019s retreat in Morocco, hoping the remote setting will unlock her writer\u2019s block,\u201d per Netflix<\/a>\u2018s description. \u201cWhile there, she meets a young man \u2014 what starts as an acquaintanceship evolves into an intoxicating, life-altering love affair.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Marriage Story<\/em> actress described her character in further detail, noting that Katherine \u201chas spent her life dedicated to narrative and therefore [hasn\u2019t spent] much time looking at deep truth within.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is at a turning point in her life where she is looking for a softening and deeper understanding, and she finds it in a love story,\u201d Laura added, before explaining what attracted her to the movie. \u201cWhat drew me to the story was the exploration of identity and self-worth within relationships, especially in a world as intellectually charged as the literary scene. The dynamic between the younger man and the older, established writer intrigued me because it\u2019s not just about romance \u2014 it\u2019s about finding someone who truly sees and understands you, which is something deeply human and relatable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in their interview, Liam and Laura delved into their on-set working relationship. The Hunger Games<\/em> franchise star noted that it was an \u201cabsolute privilege\u201d to share the screen with the Oscar winner, calling her a \u201cremarkable talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Laura\u2019s take on Liam, she described him as \u201cpure magic\u201d and said,\u00a0\u201cHe became not only a buddy and a confidant through our Moroccan adventure, but our shared longing [for] honesty and intimacy in all relationships was very moving to me. We were very aligned, so getting to tell this story together meant the world \u2026 and he is friggin\u2019 hilarious, so I laughed the entire time.\u201d<\/p>\n
