The Foo Fighters<\/a> are planning to donate to Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 campaign after Republican Party candidate Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> played one of their songs at a recent event. A spokesperson for the band told The Independent<\/em> <\/a>on August 25 that Trump\u2019s team didn\u2019t ask them for permission to use the song \u201cMy Hero\u201d at a rally where Robert F. Kennedy Jr<\/strong><\/a>. endorsed the 78-year-old politician. According to the outlet, the rep added, \u201cand if they were, they would not have granted it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson also pointed out that \u201cany royalties received as a result of this use will be donated\u201d to Kamala\u2019s campaign with running mate Tim Walz<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Foo Fighters doubled down on their position by answering a fan\u2019s question via X (formerly known as Twitter).<\/p>\n

\u201cHey @foofighters, did you let Trump use \u2018My Hero\u2019 to welcome RFK on stage?\u201d the social media user tweeted, to which the band\u2019s official account responded, \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Foo Fighters\u2019 account retweeted the conversation, adding, \u201cLet us be clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s campaign, however, told The Independent<\/em> that they, in fact, licensed the song from BMI\u2019s Songview service. A rep told the outlet, \u201cWe have a license to play the song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> sent Trump\u2019s campaign a cease and desist letter after they used her song \u201cFreedom\u201d in a social media video, according to multiple outlets. The clip has since been deleted. Kamala, 59, used the same track in a campaign ad and during her Democratic National Convention speech.<\/p>\n

Trump and Harris are currently traveling the country as part of their respective presidential campaigns. They are scheduled to appear in a debate on September 10.<\/p>\n

In July, President Joe Biden<\/strong> <\/a>dropped out of the race for a possible re-election, leading the Democratic Party to nominate of the vice president. The 81-year-old politician has endorsed Kamala and supported her at the DNC. Biden\u2019s decided to step down from the race after countless Democrats and other public figures called for him to drop out. Many cited the president\u2019s age as a primary concern.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
