Robert F. Kennedy Jr<\/strong>.<\/a> is suspending his presidential candidacy, he announced during a Friday, August 23, speech. While speaking to a crowd in Arizona, the independent candidate blasted the Democratic Party and the mainstream media while also expressing his support for Republican Party candidate Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n During his address, Kennedy, 70, pointed out that he discovered that he and Trump, 78, are \u201caligned with each other\u201d on multiple opinions, such as \u201csecuring the border, protecting freedom of speech\u201d and preventing Democrats from allegedly interfering with campaigns.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in his speech, RFK claimed that the Democratic Party \u201chad become the part of war, censorship, corruption, big Pharma, big tech\u201d among other accusations. Furthermore, he slammed the media and accused outlets of \u201ccensorship\u201d in America.<\/p>\n The former Democrat left the party in 2023 and embarked on his presidential campaign as an independent.<\/p>\n \u201cWe inspired a massive independent political movement,\u201d Kennedy said about his presidential campaign, adding, \u201cMore than 100,000 volunteers sprang into action. I hope they can reverse our nation\u2019s decline.\u201d<\/p>\n The politician went on to claim that the Democratic Party \u201cset itself to dismantling [democracy],\u201d and accused Democrats of breaking voting rules and alleging they\u2019ve perpetuated \u201ccensorship\u201d in the U.S. Additionally, Kennedy accused President Joe Biden<\/strong> <\/a>of \u201cmocking\u201d Russian president Vladimir Putin, whom he says he does not excuse from the invasion on Ukraine, and claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong><\/a> refused to meet with him.<\/p>\n \u201cIn my heart, I no longer believe that I have a realistic path to electoral victory,\u201d Kennedy explained. \u201cI cannot in good conscience ask my staff and volunteers to keep working their long hours or ask my donors to keep giving when I cannot honestly tell them that I have a real path to the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Kennedy clarified that he was not \u201cterminating\u201d his campaign, but rather suspending it, noting that he is \u201cgoing to remove [his] name\u201d in \u201cabout 10 battleground states.\u201d He added that he has \u201calready started the process\u201d of doing so and that voters in those states could vote for him\u00a0\u201cwithout harming or helping President Trump or Vice President Harris.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
