Following the third night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, the 62-year-old conservative media personality commented on the 17-year-old\u2019s reaction to his father\u2019s nomination for vice president.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, August 21, the Minnesota governor, 60, delivered his DNC speech<\/a>, and Gus was seen crying and saying, \u201cThat\u2019s my dad.\u201d Tim told his wife and children from the stage, \u201cHope, Gus, Gwen \u2014 You are my whole world. Our family is from Texas and most have been-die hard Republicans for most of their lives. Thanks for completely turning them against the Republican Party!\u201d<\/p>\n Ann has not publicly responded to the backlash over her crude comment.<\/p>\n Ahead of Tim\u2019s DNC speech, he and his wife, Gwen Walz<\/strong>, spoke with PEOPLE<\/em><\/a> about their son.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen our youngest Gus was growing up, it became increasingly clear that he was different from his classmates,\u201d the pair told the outlet earlier this week. \u201cGus preferred video games and spending more time by himself. When he was becoming a teenager, we learned that Gus has a non-verbal learning disorder in addition to an anxiety disorder and ADHD, conditions that millions of Americans also have.\u201d<\/p>\n Gwen and Tim concluded their statement by recalling that it \u201ctook time\u201d to understand that \u201cGus\u2019\u00a0condition is not a setback \u2014 it\u2019s his secret power.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
