Some of the most pristine parts of the planet have been contaminated with perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a class of chemicals that are nearly indestructible. Now, findings suggest that these \u201cforever chemicals<\/a>\u201d are travelling in surprising ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it can reach the pristine areas, then what can you say about the other areas?\u201d says Ivan Kourtchev<\/a> at Coventry University in the UK.<\/p>\n
