Five days before his death, Matthew Perry<\/strong> referred to himself as \u201cMattman\u201d\u2014something he did in three other posts\u2014and shared his final public words: \u201cOh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After news broke on October 28 that the Friends<\/em> actor was discovered face down in his hot tub by his assistant and later pronounced dead, at 54, by paramedics, fans were perplexed by his cryptic words before his sudden passing.<\/p>\n

But now\u2014with the arrests connected to the investigation into the star\u2019s death<\/a>\u2014those who loved Perry are enraged by how people close to him took advantage of someone trying to overcome habits that had long afflicted him.<\/p>\n

On the day Perry died, his live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa<\/strong><\/a>\u2014the man who discovered the actor in the hot tub\u2014administered his first ketamine shot of the morning at around 8:30 a.m., according to a plea agreement he signed.<\/p>\n

At 12:45 p.m., Iwamasa injected Perry again while the actor watched a movie at home. Just 40 minutes later, Perry\u2014who had been increasingly taking ketamine in the days before his death\u2014requested another shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cShoot me up with a big one,\u201d Perry told Iwamasa, according to the agreement, and asked him to prepare the hot tub.<\/p>\n

The third dose was administered while Perry was either near or in the jacuzzi, according to court documents. Iwamasa then left the home to run errands. When he returned, he found Perry dead, face down in the jacuzzi.<\/p>\n

Iwamasa\u2014one of five defendants charged by the Department of Justice\u2014reportedly injected Perry six to eight times per day. Court documents state that Perry received at least 27 shots of ketamine\u2014administered by his assistant\u2014in the five days leading up to his death.<\/p>\n

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>, during the month of October 2023, Iwamasa found Perry \u201cunconscious at his residence on at least two occasions.\u201d Iwamasa also referred to himself as \u201cBatman\u2019s Butler.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same month, Iwamasa sent a text message to Erik Fleming<\/strong>, an acquaintance of the actor and one of the five arrested, inquiring about purchasing ketamine. Fleming then forwarded a screenshot of text messages he exchanged with his unnamed drug source, which stated that the ketamine was \u201cunmarked but amazing\u201d and that his dealer \u201conly deal[s] with high-end clients and celebs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other defendants include physicians Salvador Plascencia<\/strong> and Mark Chavez<\/strong>, who pleaded not guilty. They are accused of supplying Perry with more of the drug as he became increasingly desperate in the weeks leading to his death.<\/p>\n

Plascencia reportedly mocked Perry in a text message to Dr. Chavez, writing, \u201cI wonder how much this moron will pay.\u201d Prosecutors later revealed that the two doctors supplied Perry with a total of 22 vials of ketamine and ketamine lozenges obtained through a fraudulent prescription.<\/p>\n

Plascencia, known as \u201cDr. P.,\u201d also instructed Iwamasa on how and where to inject ketamine into Perry\u2019s body, which Iwamasa did without any medical training.<\/p>\n

\u201cFound the sweet spot but trying different places led to running out,\u201d Iwamasa texted Plascencia on Oct. 4, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry\u2019s addiction issues to enrich themselves,\u201d Martin Estrada<\/strong>, the United States attorney for the Central District of California, said at a news conference on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The other defendant, Jasveen Sangha<\/strong>, was accused of being a dealer and was also referred to as \u201cthe Ketamine Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
