Face: the future<\/h2>\n

Should you take at face value a science paper that suggests that your face is the result of a \u201cself-fulfilling prophecy process\u201d?<\/p>\n

A study called \u201cCan names shape facial appearance<\/a>?\u201d claims it \u201cprobes the origins\u201d of a supposed either\/or question. The question: do parents choose a name that seems to match their infant\u2019s \u201cinnate facial characteristics\u201d \u2013 or, instead, does the child\u2019s facial appearance, as they grow up, change shape to better match some stereotype of people who have that birth name?<\/p>\n

Did Natalie always look like a Natalie? Or did her name impel her to become ever\u2026<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
