My, my, how can the Mamma Mia!<\/em> cast and crew resist making a sequel? Since 2018, fans of the musical film franchise have been dying to know whether Amanda Seyfried<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Meryl Streep<\/a>, Pierce Brosnan<\/a>, Colin Firth<\/a>, Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Andy Garcia<\/strong>, Cher<\/strong><\/a> and more stars would reunite for a third installment. While the ensemble hasn\u2019t confirmed that they\u2019re working on Mamma Mia 3<\/em>, Christine recently spilled an optimistic update.<\/p>\n

Was \u2018Mamma Mia 3\u2019 Confirmed?<\/h2>\n

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in August 2024, Christine \u2014 who played Tanya in Mamma Mia! <\/em>and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again<\/em> \u2014 dished that franchise producer Judy Craymer<\/strong> already came up with the storyline for a sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in London with Judy Craymer at our favorite watering hole,\u201d Christine told the outlet, before adding, \u201cShe is planning Mamma Mia 3.<\/em> She gave me the narrative plotline of how it\u2019s going to happen. That\u2019s all I can say!\u201d<\/p>\n

Christine then pointed out that this is not an, \u201cOh, I wish it could happen!\u201d situation because, \u201cJudy Craymer makes things happen. She made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit. I wouldn\u2019t put it past Judy Craymer to get everybody back together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress also quipped that she \u201chopes\u201d the cast will \u201call be on some fabulous Greek or Croatian island having a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n
