During a recent appearance on <em>Watch What Happens Live<\/em>, <em>SNL<\/em> cast member <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/feature\/who-is-bowen-yang-saturday-night-live-4359449\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Bowen Yang<\/strong><\/a> spilled the details about a former male host, who allegedly made \u201ccast members cry\u201d before their table read. Bowen, 33, did not, however, name the host in question.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">\u201cThis man who \u2026 this person, this host made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday during the, before the table-read, because he hated the ideas,\u201d he said during his conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/pics\/andy-cohen-pics\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a>. Bowen then added that the experience was \u201cterrible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">Elsewhere during his TV interview, Bowen described his biggest bomb with <em>SNL<\/em> sketches. He recalled one that was planned for host <strong>Ayo Edebiri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe title=\"Bowen Yang Talks About the Worst Behavior He\u2019s Seen From an SNL Host | WWHL\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PXp1eIR-rMg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">\u201cWe wrote a live sketch where it took place in an elevator, and she and I were, like, telling everyone that we should all make out or something because the elevator got stuck,\u201d Bowen explained. \u201cThen, for some reason, it got turned into a pre-tape under our noses, and we had to adapt to that.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">The <em>Wicked<\/em> actor added that the sketch \u201cjust didn\u2019t go as well as [he] had hoped.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">\u201cAnd you just deal with it,\u201d he pointed out. \u201cComedy\u2019s subjective, you never know how it\u2019s gonna play in front of a specific audience. But it\u2019s fine, you let it roll off your back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">Bowen was first hired to be a writer for <em>SNL<\/em> in 2018. One year later, he was promoted as an on-air cast member for its 45th season. Among his most famous live sketches were alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/colin-jost\/3\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Colin Jost<\/strong> <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/michael-che\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Michael Che<\/strong><\/a> on the show\u2019s \u201cWeekend Update\u201d segment. Bowen became the first featured player on the sketch comedy series to earn a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2021. Since then, he\u2019s been nominated four additional times for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, including at this year\u2019s upcoming Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\"><em>SNL<\/em> is currently gearing up for its 50th season, which premieres on September 28.
