The company\u2019s second-generation model has a bigger screen than the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/google-pixel-fold-review-the-challenger-that-samsung-needs-specs-price-170003458.html\">2023 model<\/a> and (shock!) is full of <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/google-rebrands-its-bard-ai-chatbot-as-gemini-which-now-has-its-own-android-app-151303210.html\">Gemini AI features<\/a>. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 13 percent wider and a smidge taller when unfolded. Both phones are roughly the same thickness when open, although the Pixel measures a bit thinner when folded.<\/p>\n<p> <span id=\"end-legacy-contents\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Both phones have OLED (or OLED-adjacent) displays with the goodies you\u2019d expect from the tech: rich colors, deep blacks and more efficient power in darker scenes. Google\u2019s model has an 8-inch OLED Super Actua Flex main display, while Samsung uses a 7.6-inch AMOLED. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold\u2019s internal screen is 12 percent bigger by area. We\u2019ll need more hands-on time with the Pixel to say what that means in benchmarks and everyday experience. However, we found the Z Fold 6 speedy and responsive without noticeable lag.<\/p>\n<p>The Pixel does have more RAM: 16GB to 12GB on the Pixel. Both phones start with 256GB storage. Each offers a 512GB variant, but only the Z Fold 6 has a 1TB option. The Pixel is a bit less expensive than the Z Fold, setting you back \u201conly\u201d $1,799 and up compared to the Z Fold 6\u2019s $1,900. (Although you may find trade-in deals that leave you paying significantly less.) Even the \u201cbudget\u201d rival to these two, the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/oneplus-open-review-a-thinner-and-more-affordable-flagship-foldable-specs-price-150031633.html\">OnePlus Open<\/a>, still costs a hefty $1,700 without trade-ins.<\/p>\n<p>As much as foldable phones have improved since they <a data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2019-04-22-samsung-galaxy-fold-review-expensive-experiment.html\">first arrived<\/a> five years ago, they\u2019re still pricing out all but the most deep-pocketed consumers.
