MTV\u2019s Video Music Awards have been rescheduled by a day due to their original date coinciding with the 2024 Presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> <\/strong>and former President Donald Trump<\/a><\/strong>. Originally set for Tuesday, September 10, the event at UBS Arena in New York will now take place on Wednesday, September 11, to avoid conflicting with the debate.<\/p>\n Kamala Harris, the 59-year-old Democratic candidate, previously addressed her opponent at a campaign rally, saying, \u201cWell, Donald, I do hope you\u2019ll reconsider meeting me on the debate stage because, as the saying goes, \u2018If you\u2019ve got something to say, say it to my face.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Shortly afterward, the 78-year-old Republican candidate shared during a press conference<\/a>, \u201cI think it\u2019s very important to have debates, and we\u2019ve agreed with Fox on a date of September 4. We\u2019ve agreed with NBC for September 10, pending final confirmation. And we\u2019ve agreed with ABC on September 25.\u201d<\/p>\n After some back-and-forth efforts to secure Trump\u2019s participation in the debate, Harris expressed to reporters, according to CNN<\/span><\/i><\/a>, \u201cI\u2019m glad that he\u2019s finally agreed to a debate on September 10th. I\u2019m looking forward to it, and I hope he shows up.\u201d<\/p>\n With the VMAs now set for September 11, all eyes will be on the list of nominees. Leading with 10 nominations is Taylor Swift<\/a><\/strong>, particularly for her song \u201cFortnight\u201d featuring Post Malone<\/a><\/strong>. Following with six nominations each are Eminem<\/a><\/strong>, Sabrina Carpenter<\/a><\/strong>, and Ariana Grande<\/a><\/strong>. Also on the list are Megan Thee Stallion<\/a><\/strong>, SZA<\/strong>, Olivia Rodrigo<\/strong><\/a>, Teddy Swims<\/strong>, Lisa<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n Not only will viewers find out who takes home the \u2018Artist of The Year\u2019 award, but they can also enjoy performances by Camila Cabello<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0 \u201cEspresso\u201d singer, Sabrina Carpenter and debut performers Rauw Alejandro<\/a>, Chappell Roan, and GloRilla<\/strong>.
