Former President Barack Obama has shared his playlist<\/a> of his current favorite songs for summer 2024. Included is Charli XCX<\/a>\u2019s high-speed Brat<\/a><\/em> song \u201c365\u201d\u2014because not even Obama can resist Brat Summer<\/a>\u2014as well as Tommy Richman<\/a>\u2019s breakout single \u201cMillion Dollar Baby,\u201d 2Pac<\/a>\u2019s \u201cHow Do U Want It,\u201d and Nick Drake<\/a>\u2019s \u201cOne of These Things First.\u201d Obama also picked songs by Billie Eilish, Shaboozey, Tems, Bonny Light Horseman, Beyonc\u00e9, Pharoah Sanders, Bad Bunny, Samara Joy, Charles Mingus, and more. See the full playlist below.<\/p>\n \u201cWith summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I\u2019ve been listening to lately \u2013 and it wouldn\u2019t be my playlist if it didn\u2019t include an eclectic mix,\u201d Obama wrote when sharing his selections. \u201cI hope you find something new to listen to!\u201d<\/p>\n This is part of Obama\u2019s years-long tradition of sharing lists of his favorite books, music, and movies twice a year. His top songs of 2023<\/a> included tracks by Big Thief, Mitski, Beyonc\u00e9, and Megan Thee Stallion, while SZA, Rosal\u00eda, Maggie Rogers, and Kendrick Lamar got those honors the year prior<\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview<\/a> with Hasan Minhaj last year, Obama reiterated that he really does pick these songs for his playlists himself. \u201cPeople seem to think, \u2018Well, he must’ve had some 20-year-old intern who was figuring out this latest cut,\u2019\u201d said Obama. \u201cNo, man!
