X owner Elon Musk was supposed to be interviewing Donald Trump live on Spaces, beginning at 8pm ET Monday. But the stream repeatedly crashed and was completely inaccessible to many users.<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1823153581882810650\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:claimed;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">claimed<\/a> that the failure was due to a \u201cmassive DDOS [distributed denial of service] attack on X,\u201d and that the company \u201ctested the system with 8 million concurrent listeners earlier today.\u201d Instead, only a \u201csmaller number\u201d of people will be able to listen to the conversation live. As of 8:30pm ET, the live stream had yet to begin. \u201cCrashed,\u201d \u201cunable\u201d and \u201cTwitter blackout\u201d trended on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Those who were able to join the stream were greeted with about a half hour of hold music followed by several minutes of total silence.
