Elle King<\/strong> did not hold back when discussing her strained relationship with her father, Rob Schneider<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n In a teaser clip for an upcoming episode of Bunnie Xo<\/strong>\u2019s Dumb Blonde<\/em> podcast, the \u201cEx\u2019s & Oh\u2019s\u201d singer reflected on her upbringing with her father,\u00a0 Schneider, 60, revealing that he sent her to a fat camp as a child.<\/p>\n \u201cI was, like, a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp,\u201d King shared. \u201cAnd then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and didn\u2019t lose any weight\u2026 Very toxic and very silly.\u201d<\/p>\n The 35-year-old, whose mother is Rob\u2019s first wife, London King<\/strong>, often spent summers with the Saturday Night Live<\/em> alum. Amid her trips to the weight loss camp, she would spend time with him on movie sets.<\/p>\n \u201cI went four or five years without talking to my dad,\u201d King said. \u201cIf I ever spent a summer with him, it would be on a movie set. I would just get lost in the shuffle.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor, commonly seen in movies with Adam Sandler<\/strong>, was often critical of her appearance and kept his distance from her, both physically and emotionally, during her childhood.<\/p>\n \u201cMy dad forgot about every single birthday,\u201d King added. \u201cI spent my 18th birthday in a summer school, where they brought me cupcakes. When I came home, my dad had forgotten my birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n King also noted that she never sought help from her father, stating she didn\u2019t want it because he doesn\u2019t have \u201ca good reputation\u201d in Hollywood.<\/p>\n As for their relationship now, Elle was clear: \u201cI don\u2019t want to be associated with him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s just not nice,\u201d she continued. \u201cI disagree with a lot of the things he says. You can want someone to change so much, but ultimately, you can\u2019t control anyone else\u2019s actions. You can\u2019t control people\u2019s feelings. All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n In recent years, Schneider has made headlines for his political views. Though he has described himself as a \u201cclassic liberal,\u201d he has railed against vaccine mandates and supported causes typically aligned with conservative voters.<\/p>\n King also mentioned her attempts to repair her relationship with her dad. \u201cI tried every different angle\u2014letters, being soft, yelling. He would just say, \u2018Well, see, look, you\u2019re yelling.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou can want someone to change so much, but you can\u2019t control anyone else\u2019s actions or feelings,\u201d she reiterated. \u201cAll you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings. And sometimes I f\u2014ing boil up, and I f\u2014ing bust my lid.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
