Simons, too, has since deleted the fake <em>Telegraph<\/em> headline.<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/europe\/2024\/08\/05\/british-pm-calls-out-elon-musk-over-his-claim-civil-war-is-inevitable-in-the-u-k\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/europe\/2024\/08\/05\/british-pm-calls-out-elon-musk-over-his-claim-civil-war-is-inevitable-in-the-u-k\/\" class=\"sc-93594058-0 fowfrQ\" rel=\"noopener\">had already entangled himself in Britain\u2019s domestic political crisis<\/a>. On Aug. 4, he shared another post showing video footage of the riots brought on by the killing of three children in Northern England. False rumors circulated by far-right groups claimed the attacker was a Muslim asylum seeker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Civil war is inevitable<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1819933223536742771?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1819933223536742771?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-93594058-0 fowfrQ\">August 4, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The post Musk retweeted claims the chaos in the video is \u201cthe effects of mass migration and open borders,\u201d and Musk commented that \u201cCivil war is inevitable,\u201d which prompted condemnation from the prime minister\u2019s office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., Musk has also garnered criticism for posts shared on X relating to the current presidential election, often on matters of immigration as well.
