Governor Tim Walz<\/strong><\/a> is Kamala Harris<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 running mate, and many Democrats have expressed their full support for him. While Harris\u2019 presidential campaign heats up, Walz pledged that he\u2019s \u201call in\u201d with her goals as the potential future president of the United States.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign. I\u2019m all in,\u201d Walz tweeted on Tuesday, August 6. \u201cVice President Harris is showing us the politics of what\u2019s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school. So, let\u2019s get this done, folks! Join us.\u201d<\/p>\n The president released a supportive statement, calling the Harris-Walz ticket a \u201ca powerful voice for working people and America\u2019s great middle class.\u201d<\/p>\n The former president released a lengthy statement via social media, writing,\u00a0\u201cWhen a presidential candidate chooses a running mate, it says a lot about who they are and what kind of president they\u2019ll be. Do they pick someone inexperienced and polarizing who will deepen our divisions? Or do they pick someone with the judgment to make tough decisions, and the character to believe that every voice counts and everyone deserves an equal chance?\u201d<\/p>\n Obama went on to note that by selecting Walz as her running mate, Harris \u201chas chosen an ideal partner \u2014 and made it clear exactly what she stands for.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGovernor Walz doesn\u2019t just have the experience to be vice president, he has the values and the integrity to make us proud,\u201d Obama added. \u201cAs governor, Tim helped families and businesses recover from the pandemic, established paid family leave, guaranteed the right to an abortion, and put common sense gun safety measures in place to keep communities safe. But Tim\u2019s signature is his ability to talk like a human being and treat everyone with decency and respect \u2013 not all that surprising considering the fact that he served in the National Guard for 24 years and worked as a high school social studies teacher and football coach before being elected to Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end of his statement, Obama added that he and his wife, Michelle Obama<\/strong><\/a>, \u201ccouldn\u2019t be happier for Tim and Gwen, their family, and our country.\u201d<\/p>\n Tim Walz is an exceptionally effective governor \u2013 and also great to work with.
