The race to lure hungry diners into fast-food restaurants has a new contestant.<\/p>\n
Jimmy John\u2019s is the latest chain to unveil a value meal combo, announcing the \u201c$10 Total Package Meal\u201d on Monday. The deal will include an 8-inch sandwich, bag of Jimmy Chips, choice of dessert from cookies and brownies, and a regular-sized drink.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know there are a lot of value offerings on the market, but with the introduction of the $10 Total Package meal, our guests don\u2019t have to choose between price and quality,\u201d Jimmy John\u2019s vice president of brand experience, Jeff Cobb, said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fast-food chains have been slashing prices all summer to win back customers who have grown frustrated with rising prices. This year has seen plenty of claims of \u201cMcFlation<\/a>,\u201d which followed reports of about $8 chicken sandwiches and $18 Big Mac meals. (McDonald\u2019s CEO Joe Erlinger addressed that last month, issuing a public letter<\/a> to counter what he called the \u201cviral social posts and poorly sourced reports that McDonald\u2019s has raised prices significantly beyond inflationary rates.\u201d)<\/p>\n McDonald\u2019s, since June, has offered a $5 meal<\/a> at most locations nationwide and has extended its availability until at least the end of this month. Wendy\u2019s and Burger King, along with several other chains, meanwhile have offered deals of their own<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last week, McDonald\u2019s, the leader in fast-food sales, reported its same-store sales fell<\/a> for the first time since 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
