Machine Gun Kelly<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his sobriety journey.<\/p>\n During an appearance on Bunnie Xo<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s podcast Dumb Blonde<\/em><\/a> on Monday, Aug. 5, the \u2018Emo Girl\u2019 musician candidly discussed his struggles with mental health and alcohol abuse, revealing that he is now \u201ccompletely sober from everything.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t drink anymore. I haven\u2019t drunk since last August,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Following his 2023 European tour, the 34-year-old shared that he went to rehab \u2014 and not many people knew.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t tell anybody outside of those closest to me, but I went to rehab right when we got off the European tour last year,\u201d MGK, born Colson Baker, explained. \u201cThat was my first time ever going to rehab, and they just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it. I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is, and have made peace with it. It\u2019s a constant tightrope walk.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou hold to that,\u201d Bunnie\u2014who starred in the rapper\u2019s \u2018Lonely Road\u2019 music video alongside her husband, Jelly Roll<\/strong><\/a>, and Kelly\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Megan Fox<\/strong><\/a>\u2014said when praising Kelly\u2019s sobriety. \u201cBecause I actually wanted you to have a drinking contest with my husband and you were like, \u2018No, I\u2019m sober.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n when you really didn\u2019t think \u2014 \u064bkatie \u2661 (@machineguncol) May 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n MGK said he previously abused alcohol, marijuana, and pills such as hydrocodone, Percocet, and Vyvanse.<\/p>\n Further discussing his sobriety journey, Kelly admitted that Fox, 38, has been very helpful along the way. The couple, who began dating in 2020, have experienced ups and downs in their relationship since their 2022 engagement.<\/p>\n \u201cMegan has for sure been extremely helpful in dealing with the kind of psychological withdrawals that come with [sobriety],\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n mgk aka machine gun kelly and his daughter casie via his instagram story: \u2014 mgkmagic (@mgkmagic) March 29, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He also touched on his relationship with his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker<\/strong><\/a>, whom he shares with ex-Emma Cannon<\/strong><\/a>, saying it inspired him to get sober.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, Casie, one of the biggest things that killed me in that relationship was when she would be like, \u2018Dad, I know you\u2019re high,\u2019\u201d MGK recalled. \u201cThat is like the ultimate sign of disappointment in yourself. I continue to embrace that this journey\u2019s gonna be hard for me, but I accept it and forgive myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Now a year into his sobriety journey, the \u2018I Think I\u2019m OKAY\u2019 singer can see the positive changes while commending the people who stuck by him.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s been a huge reward for me,\u201d MGK noted, \u201cand I give a lot of props to everyone around me for never quitting before I got to this point, because I really hope that I\u2019m a lot more of a pleasure to be around.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
