Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 election, according to multiple<\/a> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n

Walz, who is in his second term as governor, is also the head of the Democratic Governors Association and has a 12-year history in Congress, serving as a Democrat in a largely conservative district. Voters at large probably know him better, however, as the person who labeled leaders of the modern Republican Party as \u201cWeird\u201d.<\/p>\n

As governor, Walz has brough progressive policies to Minnesota and cultivated a \u201cregular person\u201d persona that has endeared him to voters on both sides of the aisle. The 60-year-old father of two was chosen over several other, arguably more likely, candidates, including Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly.<\/p>\n

Harris and Walz will appear together for the first time Tuesday evening in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
