The days are getting closer until the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the USA gymnastics team has already set foot in the \u2018City of Love.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Every four years the Olympics take place to showcase the world\u2019s most highly skilled athletes in competition. \u201c<\/span>The history of the Games goes back around 3,000 years, to the Peloponnese in Ancient Greece. Sports contests organised at Olympia took place every four years and acquired the name Olympic Games,\u201d as stated on the<\/span> Olympic\u2019s website<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The world has been able to witness athletes as big as Michael Phelps<\/a><\/strong>, Naomi Osaka<\/a><\/strong>, Usain Bolt<\/a><\/strong>, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a post shared by Simone Biles<\/a><\/strong>, she gave a glimpse into the team\u2019s practice. The group of girls were snapped in their matching American flag themed uniform. The 27-year-old gold medalist captioned the post with three\u00a0 french flag emojis. Each of the other girls also reshared the practice pictures to their social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This empowering group is set to battle it off on the floor starting July 26th \u2013 the kickoff to this year\u2019s Olympics. This post comes shortly after former gymnast MyKayla Skinner<\/a> <\/strong>made a comment in a <\/span>Youtube video<\/span><\/a>\u2013 now deleted \u2013 stating, \u201c<\/span>Besides Simone\u2026I feel like the talent and the depth just isn\u2019t what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don\u2019t work as hard. The girls just don\u2019t have the work ethic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The 27-year-old\u00a0 later spoke out about the topic and how they misinterpreted her comment. She noted in her apology post on Instagram Stories, \u201cHey guys\u2026 A lot of the stuff that I was talking about wasn\u2019t always necessarily about the current team because I love and support all the girls that made it and I\u2019m so proud of them. It was more about going back into my own gym and just the work ethic is different compared to when we were doing gymnastics in the Marta (Karolyi) era.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Fellow Olympian gymnast, Gabby Douglas,<\/a><\/strong> who unfortunately had to withdraw herself from this year\u2019s Olympics due to an ankle injury shared: \u201cHonestly, if you have a certain way of doing things, listen to your body\u2026If you don\u2019t need hours of pounding or you don\u2019t need a tougher coach, and it works for you, then I say why not structure around how your mind is, how your body is? \u2026 I really believe that you can\u2019t put everyone in the same category\u2026That\u2019s just my take on it, everyone\u2019s different,\u201d she told <\/span>E!
