Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun always aims to wow on stage and the annual event today was no exception. The company showed off new<\/a> foldables<\/a> and also introduced a range of new wearables \u2013 a premium sport watch, a cheap-but-capable smart band and comfy TWS buds.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a premium watch at a price of CNY 2,000 ($275\/\u20ac250\/\u20b923,000). It has a titanium body and sapphire glass. It comes with a choice of four straps: fluoroelastomer, silicone, braided and titanium Milanese.<\/p>\n

These are suitable for different sports \u2013 the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport can go diving down to 40m (130ft), it has been tested by PADI<\/a> and has received an EN13319 diving certification. Xiaomi also partnered with watch maker Suunto for the sports tracking algorithms (e.g. measuring the lactate threshold).<\/p>\n

For outdoor training, it supports five GNSS constellations with dual-band reception. It also has offline map capability and you can leave your phone at home thanks to the eSIM.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We mentioned the sapphire glass on the front, here\u2019s what is below it \u2013 a 1.43\u201d OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,200 nits for outdoor readability. Xiaomi managed to fit a surprisingly large 586mAh battery inside (the Watch S3 has a 486mAh battery) and advertises up to 15 days of battery life.<\/p>\n

The heart rate and blood-oxygen sensor on the back is also protected by sapphire glass. Xiaomi claims that the sensor achieves 97.2% accuracy. One interesting feature is that the on-board NFC can act as your car keys (only works on select vehicles).<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Band 9<\/b><\/p>\n

If the watch is too much for you, the Xiaomi Band 9 starts at CNY 250 for the base model ($35), the NFC version is CNY 300 ($42). The regular band has a metal body, but there is also a ceramic special edition for CNY 350 ($48).<\/p>\n

The band comes in four colors \u2013 pink, black, white and blue \u2013 and you can customize the look with quick change straps.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Band 9<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Xiaomi Band 9 promises up to 21 days of battery life, with Always On Display mode enabled it should do up to 9 days. It features a linear motor and 20 vibration modes to choose from.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi says that it has improved the accuracy of the heart rate sensor by 16% compared to the previous generation. Also, it worked with the Peking University Third Hospital to develop better detection of breathing issues while you sleep. And if you go for the NFC version, the band can act as car keys too.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Buds 5<\/b><\/p>\n

The Xiaomi Buds 5 use a \u201csemi-in-ear\u201d design and the company says that you can barely feel them in your ear while wearing them. Each bud weighs only 4.2g but can last an impressive 6.5 hours at a time (the total listening time with the case is 39 hours).<\/p>\n

Xiaomi Buds 5<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The buds support Qualcomm\u2019s aptX Lossless audio codec (up to 2.1Mbps) and have been tuned by the Harman AudioEFX team. There is Active Noise Cancellation and AI noise reduction for calls with 3 microphones. Spatial audio and multi-point connectivity are on board as well.<\/p>\n

The buds are rated IP54, so they are resistant to sweat and rain. The Xiaomi Buds 5 are priced at CNY 700 ($97\/\u20ac89\/\u20b98,000).<\/p>\n
