Foldables in China are developing rapidly – slimming down in size while offering more powerful chipsets, cameras and larger batteries. Xiaomi\u2019s new Mix Fold 4<\/a> is impossibly thin and light and it\u2019s going directly at the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6<\/a> and Honor Magic V3<\/a> while offering a larger main display, four rear cameras including a 5x periscope lens.<\/p>\n

At just 226 grams, Mix Fold 4 weighs as much as Honor\u2019s Magic V3 and it\u2019s nearly as thin – 4.59mm unfolded and 9.47 mm in its folded state. Xiaomi went with a curved frame design with the sides tapering into the aluminum frame.<\/p>\n

Mix Fold 4\u2019s internal structure features T800H high-strength carbon fiber which is remarkably light while offering a 300% improvement in impact resistance compared to the Mix Fold 3.<\/p>\n

This is also the first Xiaomi foldable with an IPX8 rating, making it water resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED cover display with FHD+ resolution, a 1-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a 21:9 aspect ratio.<\/p>\n

The star of the show is the 7.98-inch main panel which is made from Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and also features FHD+ resolution and an adaptive 1-120 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims both displays can crank out up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and each of them comes with a 20MP front-facing camera.<\/p>\n

Like its recent flagship foldable rivals, Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 brings Qualcomm\u2019s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi didn\u2019t spare any resources in the camera department where the Mix Fold 4 brings a Leica quad camera setup with Summilux lenses.<\/p>\n

The main shooter features a 23mm equivalent 50MP main sensor with f\/1.7 aperture and OIS. You also get a 50MP 2x portrait sensor (47mm) and a 10MP periscope with 5x optical zoom and 115mm equivalent lens. The fourth shooter on the back is a 15mm equivalent 12MP ultrawide lens.<\/p>\n

Mix Fold 4 boots Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 and packs a 5,100mAh Xiaomi Surge battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.<\/p>\n

Pricing starts at CNY 8,999 ($1,237)<\/b> for the 12\/256GB<\/b> trim and goes up to CNY 9,999 ($1,375)<\/b> for the 16\/512GB<\/b> version and CNY 10,999 ($1,513)<\/b> for the top-of-the-line Mix Fold 3 with 16GB RAM and 1TB<\/b> storage.<\/p>\n
