Sad news for the comedy world, Bob Newhart<\/a><\/strong> has died at the age of 94.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The star of <\/span>The Bob Newhart Show <\/span><\/i>was confirmed by his publicist Jerry Digney to have passed away after \u201ca series of short illneses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The comedian has filled homes with laughter since the 60s with shows like <\/span>TBNS<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Newhart<\/span><\/i>. The comedy background was something always that intrigued him even during his time as an accountant. \u201cI think it\u2019s amazing that a good accountant could become a comedian. I think in my case, it\u2019s amazing they have a bad accountant, could become a comedian. But there is something about comedy that is there\u2019s something about numbers. And music and comedy, I\u2019m not sure what it is,\u201d he said during an interview with <\/span>American Master<\/span><\/i>s<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n He has vocalized before that he is grateful when people acknowledge him for his greates roles. Bob told<\/span> The Washington Post<\/span><\/i><\/a> in 2018, \u201cIt\u2019s very gratifying, when people come up to you, say, on a plane. Someone will say, \u2018I don\u2019t mean to bother you, but I just loved your show. And my dad and my mother and I would sit and watch the show, like a ritual.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Aside from his long career background in TV, he is known for his iconic role as the narrator in the film <\/span>Elf<\/span><\/i> \u2013 which has become a movie for generations and he called it.<\/span><\/p>\n During an interview with <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a>, he recalled that when he first received the script he informed his wide, \u201c \u2018\u200b\u200bThis is going to be a perennial. This is going to be like<\/span> Miracle on 34th Street<\/span><\/i>. They\u2019re going to be showing this every Christmas, I guarantee\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added, \u201cIt could have been a terrible movie. It could have been just a stupid person who thinks they\u2019re still an elf\u2026But Will had such charm and Jon Favreau shot it in such a way that people just love it. They just love it!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Not only did it mean a lot to him, but it was a film that brought joy to the world. As his co-star Will Ferrell said to the outlet, \u201cIt was a really challenging time and it was nice to bring a nice breath of innocence to the world, and especially to the city, at that time\u2026I\u2019m really proud of it.
