Rising scream queen <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2022\/10\/07\/maika-monroe-significant-other-movie-interview\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Maika Monroe<\/strong><\/a> leads the scary story opposite Hollywood veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/celeb\/nicolas-cage\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Nicolas Cage<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 and fans won\u2019t believe which character the <em>National Treasure<\/em> actor is playing.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\"><strong>Hollywood Life<\/strong> has rounded up everything you need to know about the 2024 horror movie, <em>Longlegs<\/em>, below.<\/p>\n<h2>What Is \u2018Longlegs\u2019 2024 About?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">FBI agent Lee Harker \u2014 who is apparently clairvoyant \u2014 is assigned to work on a mysterious case in the 1990s. The FBI is hunting down an occultist serial killer known as \u201cLonglegs\u201d since the 1970s. His case has remained unsolved for years until Lee realizes a personal connection to the killer.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Longlegs\u2019 Trailer<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe title=\"LONGLEGS | Official Trailer | In Theaters July 12\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OG7wOTE8NhE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">The trailer \u2014 which dropped in June 2024 \u2014 depicts the eerie build-up of the horror of Nicolas\u2019 character. As Maika\u2019s Lee works to figure out the mystery, the underlying fear of the film slowly unravels.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Is in the \u2018Longlegs\u2019 Cast?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">Maika portrays Lee, and Nicolas portrays the serial killer, <em>Longlegs<\/em>. The actor also produced the film. In addition to the two leads, the rest of the cast includes Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Michelle Choi-Lee and Dakota Daulby.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">Even though Maika and Nicolas barely share the screen together in their latest movie, the Significant Other actress explained how he frightened her on set using the method acting technique.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">\u201cThey had been filming with Cage for five days at that point, and it was his last day, probably three weeks into filming,\u201d Maika said, per <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/film\/news\/longlegs-nicolas-cage-method-acting-maika-monroe-1236018669\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe director chose to not have me see anything, not meet him, not see what his face looked like. He created this character, this thing, so I was so nervous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">She went on to explain that production assistants brought her to a door on set into a room where Nicolas was.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\">\u201cThe cameras start rolling on me, and the director calls \u2018action.\u2019 I opened the door and what you see is all very real, and it was incredible,\u201d she added. \u201cHe\u2019s unrecognizable, and so I didn\u2019t feel like I was in a room with Nic Cage. I was in a room with Longlegs. After we finished that scene, he was done. He\u2019s in this method world, but he was able to let go of it.
