The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.emmys.com\/sites\/default\/files\/Downloads\/76thnominations-network-platform-v1.pdf?q2=\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:unveiled;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">unveiled<\/a> this year\u2019s nominations on Wednesday, and Amazon\u2019s <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/the-fallout-tv-series-is-a-very-awesome-tv-show-130039789.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:adaptation of Bethesda\u2019s franchise;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">adaptation of Bethesda\u2019s franchise<\/a> picked up an impressive 16 nods, including Best Drama, Best Actor &#8211; Drama (Walton Goggins) and Best Writing &#8211; Drama.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fallout<\/em>, which Amazon didn\u2019t wait long to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/fallout-has-already-scored-a-green-light-for-a-second-season-103013664.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:renew for a second season;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">renew for a second season<\/a>, follows Lucy (Ella Purnell), a vault dweller who ventures above-ground to try to rescue her father in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Walton Goggins scored the series\u2019 only acting nomination for his scene-stealing performance as The Ghoul. Its writing nod went to Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner for the ironically (yet appropriately) titled premiere episode, \u201cThe End.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Only Murders in the Building<\/em>, Hulu\u2019s popular comedy-mystery series, led all streaming-only series with 21 nominations. They include Best Comedy, two for Best Actor &#8211; Comedy (Steve Martin and Martin Short), Best Actress &#8211; Comedy (Selena Gomez) and Best Supporting Actress &#8211; Comedy (finally, Meryl Streep gets nominated for something!), Best Supporting Actor &#8211; Comedy (Paul Rudd), Comedy Guest Actress (Da\u2019Vine Joy Randolph) and Comedy Guest Actor (Matthew Broderick).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"caas-figure\">\n<div class=\"caas-figure-with-pb\" style=\"max-height: 506px\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"caas-img-container caas-img-loader\" style=\"padding-bottom:53%\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caas-img caas-lazy has-preview\" alt=\"Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth in the final season of The Crown. It picked up nods for Best Drama, Best Actress &#8211; Drama (Imelda Staunton), Best Actor &#8211; Drama (Dominic West), two for Best Supporting Actress &#8211; Drama (Elizabeth Debicki and Lesley Manville), Best Supporting Actor &#8211; Drama (Jonathan Pryce), Guest Actress &#8211; Drama (Claire Foy in a memorable return), Directing &#8211; Drama (Stephen Daldry for the episode \u201cSleep, Dearie Sleep\u201d) and Writing &#8211; Drama (Peter Morgan and Meriel Sheibani-Clare for \u201cRitz\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>In other streaming nominations, Amazon Prime\u2019s <em>Mr. and Mrs. Smith<\/em> and Apple TV+\u2019s <em>The Morning Show<\/em> each snagged 16 nods. Among streaming-only ones, Apple TV+ came in second with 70. (In addition to <em>The Morning Show<\/em>, Apple\u2019s <em>Palm Royale<\/em>, <em>Lessons in Chemistry<\/em> and <em>Slow Horses<\/em> all charted.) Amazon Prime Video landed 37 total noms, Hulu got 26 and Disney+ received 19.<\/p>\n<p>Zooming out from streaming-only to the broader field, FX\u2019s <em>Shogun<\/em> led all series with 25 nominations, followed by <em>The Bear<\/em> with 23 (it was a good day for FX) as it broke the record for most nods for a comedy.
