Elizabeth Gillies<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>revealed that she and\u00a0Ariana Grande<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>re-watched\u00a0Victorious\u00a0<\/em>after the controversial documentary\u00a0Quiet on Set\u00a0<\/em>about Nickelodeon\u2019s TV shows came out. Elizabeth, 30, revealed that when the documentary came out, she hopped on the phone with the\u00a0eternal sunshine\u00a0<\/em>popstar, 31, and they talked through all their feelings about the show. She revealed that she was very glad to be in touch with Ariana through it all in a new interview with\u00a0Variety<\/em><\/a>, published on Tuesday, July 16.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Quiet on Set\u00a0<\/em>documentary focused on the behind-the-scenes workings of some of Nickelodeon\u2019s most popular shows, mainly focusing on\u00a0Dan Schneider<\/strong> and allegations of misconduct against him. Dan was the creator and showrunner for Victorious<\/em>. After the documentary aired in the spring, the\u00a0Dynasty\u00a0<\/em>actress revealed that she spoke to Ariana.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth explained that she and Ariana were very open about their feelings while revisiting the documentary. \u201cI certainly reevaluated my experience with Ariana over FaceTime. We watched it together, and then we got together later that week or the next week, and we sort of broke the whole thing down and talked about it, and reprocessed everything together,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cThere was a lot to go through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elizabeth admitted to looking back on\u00a0Victorious\u00a0<\/em>\u201cincredibly positively,\u201d but hindsight as an adult can \u201creframe the memories in your mind a little bit, or cloud them, or taint them \u2014 maybe rightfully so.\u201d She also explained that she was happy to look back on it with the singer. \u201cWe definitely leaned on each other, talked amongst each other and checked in with each other,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ariana had previously spoken about reflecting on\u00a0Victorious<\/em>\u2018 content in an interview<\/a> on\u00a0Penn Badgley<\/strong>\u2018s Podcrushed <\/em>podcast. \u201cNow, looking back on some of the clips, I\u2019m like, \u2018Damn, really? Oh, s**t\u2019 \u2026 and the things that weren\u2019t approved for the network were snuck onto, like, our website or whatever. I guess I\u2019m upset, yeah<\/span> ,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Following the documentary\u2019s release, Nickelodeon released a statement. \u201cThough we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon as a matter of policy investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct,\u201d the network said. \u201cOur highest priorities are the well-being and best interests not just of our employees, casts and crew, but of all children, and we have adopted numerous safeguards over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
