Captain Dave almost was lost to the ocean, mother ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">\u201cCaptain Dave unhooked himself to the buoy before he turned the boat on to make sure the boat wasn\u2019t dead. Well no power, no radio, no anchor, no nothing. Heavy heavy winds. Next thing you know Captain Dave is lost at sea,\u201d Portnoy continued.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">\u201cNext thing you know, Captain Dave is lost at sea,\u201d he recalled in the two-minute clip. \u201c[The boat\u2019s] just blowing, [I\u2019m] trying not to crash into ships in the harbor.\u201d \u00a0He said he eventually used a flare gun to send a \u201cdistress signal\u201d but \u201cstill nothing\u201d happened.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We almost lost Captain Dave to mother ocean today.  Thank you to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/uscoastguard?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">#uscoastguard<\/a> for saving Captain Dave&#8217;s life. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hF5gYbmkSY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">pic.twitter.com\/hF5gYbmkSY<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">\u2014 Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stoolpresidente\/status\/1812934922698383580?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">July 15, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">Fortunately, a woman in a \u201crowboat\u201d nearby noticed him and climbed aboard his boat. She then used her working radio to call the Coast Guard to his location.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">\u201cShe boards Captain Dave\u2019s vessel. She said, \u2018Can I make a TikTok of you?\u2019 I said, \u2018No time for TikToks,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cShe goes, \u2018Well, I don\u2019t have my phone on me anyways. [But] her radio works [and she] calls in the Coast Guard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\">\u201c[I\u2019m] out at sea going back and forth rocking, [thinking] my life is over,\u201d he explained in the video. \u201cThankfully the Coast Guard, God bless\u2026 tied me up, brought me back\u2026 Captain Dave lives to tell another tale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_22-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">In\u00a0response to his video, the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USCGNortheast\/status\/1812942699034735029\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">First Coast Guard District of Boston, Massachusetts<\/a>, wrote, \u201cYou\u2019re welcome, Dave. Tell <strong>Miss Peaches<\/strong> we said hi and remember to boat safe!\u00a0#SemperParatus.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7UhcqPpwZ3\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:500px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Coast Guard officials shared in a statement to local affiliate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston25news.com\/news\/local\/barstool-sports-founder-rescued-by-nantucket-coast-guard-after-boat-breaks-free-mooring\/QAJHA4UDIVGWLN2ECBQ4F6ODP4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">WFXT<\/a>, that they received a report that a \u201c28-foot pleasure boat\u201d belonging to Portnoy had broke free from its mooring buoys.
