CNN senior political commentator <\/span>Van Jones<\/strong><\/a> warned that TV personality and model <\/span>Amber Rose<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s\u00a0address backing GOP presidential nominee<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee was \u201cprobably the most dangerous speech for the Democratic coalition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n After Rose\u2019s appearance at the RNC Monday night, people had mixed reactions to the American model with a tattoo prominently placed on her forehead, along with the RNC\u2019s decision to feature her as a speaker and the potential impact she might have on voters. However, Jones felt it was clear that the model had spoken well, and despite any reservations Republicans might have had about featuring a supporter with a conflicting background, the Republican Party achieved a \u201cbunker buster\u201d with her alone.<\/p>\n \u201cThat is a young woman of color,\u201d noted Jones. \u201cShe is describing the experience a lot of people have, feeling that maybe if you\u2019re around liberals you might get criticized too much, you might not be able to speak your mind, and she spoke to it really well, and she\u2019s way more famous than any of us up here.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cTo the extent that these guys are trying to bust up our coalition, that was a bunker buster right there.\u201d<\/p>\n CNN anchor Anderson Cooper<\/strong><\/a> echoed Jones\u2019s sentiments regarding the effectiveness of Rose\u2019s speech. He responded to Jones, saying, \u201cAnd it\u2019s one of the things we\u2019ve been talking about\u2026 She speaks through the camera to the audience at home.\u201d<\/p>\n The 40-year-old model previously criticized Trump early in his presidency in The Cut<\/em> <\/a>magazine back in 2016: Hillary Clinton was only being supported by \u201cnon-hot\u201d celebrities. She added, \u201cHe\u2019s just such an idiot. He\u2019s so weird. I really hope he\u2019s not president.\u201d<\/p>\n Because of this, she made waves with her support for Trump in May by sharing photos of herself in a bikini and MAGA hat on social media, as well as photos of her meeting with Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n It was also a contentious decision for many Republicans, as they aren\u2019t typically associated with embracing feminism and sex-positivity activism, which have been central to the SlutWalk<\/a> founder\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n In 2015, she organized the SlutWalk<\/a> in Los Angeles, a protest event aimed at raising awareness about gender inequality. \u201cI go to battle with people,\u201d she said while speaking to <\/span>The<\/em> <\/a>New York Times<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>in<\/span> 2022. \u201cI hate to see an injustice when it comes to women, or the LGBTQ community or sexual assault or rape victims.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Although some may feel the SlutWalk doesn\u2019t align with the conservative views of the Republican Party, Rose believes that her fight for women and marginalized groups is very much in line with her support for Trump.<\/p>\n \u201cI realized Donald Trump and his supporters don\u2019t care if you\u2019re Black, white, gay or straight. It\u2019s all love. And that\u2019s when it hit me: These are my people. This is where I belong.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
