The comedy rock duo\u00a0Tenacious D<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 made up of\u00a0Jack Black<\/a>\u00a0and Kyle Gass \u2014 has canceled the rest of their tour after Gass\u2019 remarks about the assassination attempt on\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n While onstage at a concert in Sydney on Sunday, Gass was presented with a birthday cake and asked to \u201cmake a wish\u201d by Black. Gass responded, \u201cDon\u2019t miss Trump next time,\u201d an apparent reference to\u00a0the rally shooting<\/a>\u00a0a day before that left the former president\u00a0with an injured ear.<\/a>\u00a0The video of Gass was widely circulated on social media.<\/p>\n \u201cI was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,\u201d Black said in a Tuesday\u00a0statement on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cAfter much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n Following Black\u2019s statement, Gass apologized\u00a0on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe line I improvised Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake,\u201d he wrote Tuesday. \u201cI don\u2019t condone violence in any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I\u2019m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement.\u201d<\/p>\n The band recently completed dates in the U.S. and Europe. Their \u201cSpicy Meatball Tour\u201d was slated to continue Tuesday night in Newcastle, hitting most major cities in Australia and New Zealand this month before returning to the U.S. for a select few dates in October.<\/p>\n \u201cFrontier Touring regret to advise that Tenacious D\u2019s concert tonight at Newcastle Entertainment Centre has been postponed,\u201d their touring company announced in a\u00a0statement on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0Tuesday. \u201cTicket holders are asked to hold onto their tickets until further information is available.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked for further comment, a represented for the band directed the Associated Press back to Black\u2019s statement.
