Katy Perry<\/a><\/strong> has opened up about her new single \u201cWoman\u2019s World\u201d which encourages female empowerment after receiving criticism for working with men including Dr. Luke<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 who was in a legal battle with Kesha<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The 39-year-old sings, \u201c It\u2019s a woman\u2019s world and you\u2019re lucky to be livin\u2019 in it (Uh-huh, uh-huh) \/ It\u2019s a woman\u2019s world and you\u2019re lucky to be livin\u2019 in it (Uh-huh, uh-huh; you better)\/ You better celebrate (Celebrate)\/ \u2018Cause, baby, we ain\u2019t goin\u2019 away (Oh)\/ It\u2019s a woman\u2019s world and you\u2019re lucky to be livin\u2019 in it (Uh-huh).\u201d The music video that dropped on Friday, July 12, demonstrates a world of women where the\u201dFireworks\u201d singer channels her inner Rosie the Riveter and goes on to wake up in a destructive world where viewers come across internet personality Trisha Paytas, who makes a cameo.<\/span><\/p>\n Girl power is a big message within the song, but many users online did not like the process behind creating it. An online user commented on Katy\u2019s <\/span>X post<\/span><\/a>, \u201c<\/span>It was co-written by six people, four of whom are men. It\u2019s produced by three men, one of whom is Dr Luke, who was accused of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse by Kesha. The video is also directed by a man. LOL.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n This of course led the California girl to share how the concept was just \u201csatire.\u201d Despite all the comments being made, she disclosed via an<\/span> Instagram video <\/span><\/a>while on set, \u201c<\/span>We\u2019re being a bit sarcastic with it\u2026 It\u2019s very slapstick, very on the nose. And with this set, it\u2019s like we, ooh, we\u2019re not about the male gaze, but we really are<\/em> the male gaze. And we\u2019re really overplaying it, which is like a reset for me, and a reset for my idea of the feminine divine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Fans were discouraged by the artist, because they felt she wanted to make a song about how strong women are without having a female crew help in the making of the music video.
