Our curiosity has finally prevailed, and we imported the latest Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) model from the US. Meet one of the very few phones that is not a Note, but it surely deserves the name more than most.

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) looks a lot like the most recent Moto Edge 50 series, be it Fusion, Pro or Ultra. It has a relatively narrow design with a large screen and a unique eco-leather back panel that envelops the rear cameras without any borders or interruptions. The only meaningful difference between the Edge and the Stylus is the omission of complete water protection – the Stylus features water-repellent design – a fancy wording Motorola is using for the basic IP52 rating.

The Moto G Stylus 5G features a 6.7-inch pOLED 1080p screen with 1B colors and 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chip coupled with 8GB of RAM, just like the Latin American version of the Moto Edge 50 Fusion.

The Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) offers a dual camera on the back with a 50MP OIS primary with 2x lossless zoom and a 13MP ultrawide camera with macro support. The front camera is 32MP.

The phone offers loud stereo speakers, a large 5,000mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging, and clean Android 14 OS.

The 2024 Stylus model is quite the update over the 2023 version – even if it has the same chipset, it brings a much better design, display, cameras, and, most importantly – thoroughly expanded stylus capabilities – reduced latency, OCR option, improved stylus-related apps.

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) specs at a glance:

Body: 162.6×74.8×8.3mm, 190g; Glass front, silicone polymer (eco leather) back, plastic frame; Stylus, Water-repellent design.

Display: 6.70″ P-OLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, 1200 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi.

Chipset: Qualcomm SM6450 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4 nm): Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55); Adreno 710.

Memory: 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM; microSDXC (dedicated slot).

OS/Software: Android 14.

Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.8, 1.0µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 13 MP, f/2.2, 120˚, 1.12µm, AF.

Front camera: 32 MP, f/2.4, (wide), 0.7µm.

Video capture: Rear camera: 1080p@30/60/120fps; Front camera: 1080p@30/60fps.

Battery: 5000mAh; 30W wired, 15W wireless.

Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 5; BT 5.1; NFC; 3.5mm jack.

Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers.

The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 seems like the perfect mid-ranger, offering everything one may want from a $400 phone, with a built-in stylus at that.

Unboxing the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024

The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 ships in a thin paper box, which contains the phone and a USB-C cable.
