Sometimes, even in your 30s, you still need to make some questionable mistakes.<\/p>\n
Winona Ryder<\/strong><\/a>, 52, has had her fair share of star-studded affairs over her long career, but according to her interview for Harper\u2019s BAZAAR<\/em><\/a> August 2024 Performance Issue, she doesn\u2019t look back on all of them fondly.<\/p>\n \u201cIn my 30s, I had two disastrous relationships that were\u2014they weren\u2019t wrong, but this was before you would ever think to Google someone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I look back, I\u2019m like, \u2018What the hell was I thinking?\u2019 I was dating the type of person who only lets you know a few weeks in that they\u2019re in a relationship with someone else. And you\u2019re just like, \u2018What the fuck?\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n She didn\u2019t acknowledge which relationships<\/a> she was referring to, but Ryder was previously engaged to Johnny Depp<\/strong><\/a>, who she was with from 1990 to 1993. She also previously dated Matt Damon<\/strong><\/a>, Rilo Kiley guitarist Blake Sennett<\/strong><\/a>, and Helmet singer Page Hamilton<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The Reality Bites\u00a0<\/em>star only mentioned her more juvenile romances after talking about her iconic character that is being revived for the upcoming movie Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Lydia Deetz, once the teen daughter who could see ghosts in the original 1988 film, has now become a pill-popping widow. She\u2019s dating\u2014but not in love with\u2014her obsequiously slimy manager, Rory (played by Justin Theroux<\/strong><\/a>). And her teenage daughter Astrid (played by Jenna Ortega<\/strong><\/a>) states, \u201cMy mom is a very broken person.\u201d<\/p>\n Parts of Lydia reminded Ryder of a younger version of herself. She stated that while reading through her past diary accounts from her 30s, it was apparent she was struggling. \u201cYou clearly write when you\u2019re depressed or upset. I tend to not write when I\u2019m really happy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI was going through them and just asking myself, \u2018How?\u2019 I was clearly trying to deal with\u200a\u2026\u201d Ryder trailed off. \u201cIt was very sad. I was clearly trying to believe the best and to give grace to myself. But I was taking care of everything but myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Although looking back on your life can be hard for a number of reasons, Ryder seems content with her love life now, having been in a relationship with her partner, 53-year-old Scott Mackinlay Hahn<\/strong><\/a>, since 2011.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s so great.
