With the death of Shelley Duvall<\/strong><\/a>, a fan remembers the late 75-year-old actress with a selfie posted on X of her last visit where she brought the <\/span>Shining <\/span><\/i>star a bouquet for her birthday on Sunday, July 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen the news about Shelley Duvall. I\u2019m doing ok. Shelley was having difficulties with her health over the past few months and I visited with her often. I\u2019ll always be grateful for the memories I created with her and that I was able to give her comfort and companionship,\u201d @<\/span>sarahlovesthat<\/span><\/a> noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The user continued, \u201cthis photo was this past Sunday on her 75th birthday. She was so appreciative and when I left she thanked me for lifting her spirits. I\u2019ll always remember that. She made such a positive impact on my life as I did on hers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hollywood actress left the world peacefully behind on Thursday, July 11, after passing away in her sleep. As per, <\/span>NBC News<\/span><\/i><\/a> her partner Dan Gilroy revealed the star had been in hospice for the last couple of months due to her struggles with Diabetes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her husband, according to <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/a>, \u201cMy dear, sweet, wonderful life, partner, and friend left us last night. Too much suffering lately, now she\u2019s free. Fly away beautiful Shelley.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Though she started her career in 1970 with her debut film in a <\/span>Brewster McCloud, <\/span><\/i>she became known for her big breakout role in Nashville which earned her the Best Actress Award at Cannes Film Festival.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Despite her success, she told <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a> in an interview in 2023 that life was not always nice and easy.\u201d You didn\u2019t get paid much\u2014just scale plus 10 percent\u2026They <\/span>thought women would just marry and the husband\u2019s going to support them. But that doesn\u2019t happen for everybody,\u201d she expressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

She even told <\/span>The New York Times<\/span><\/i><\/a> in April this year, <\/span>\u201cI was a star; I had leading roles\u2026People think it\u2019s just aging, but it\u2019s not. It\u2019s violence\u2026How would you feel if people were really nice, and then, suddenly, on a dime\u201d \u2014 she snapped her fingers \u2014 \u201cthey turn on you? You would never believe it unless it happens to you. That\u2019s why you get hurt, because you can\u2019t really believe it\u2019s true.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
