Shelley Duvall<\/strong> died on Thursday, July 11. She was 75 years old. Shelley was a critically-acclaimed actress, appearing in a number of hit movies (many of which were directed by Robert Altman<\/strong>), including 3 Women<\/em>,\u00a0McCabe and Mrs. Miller,\u00a0<\/em>and more. Still, her most famous (and controversial) role was in 1980\u2019s The Shining,\u00a0<\/em>where she starred as Wendy Torrance alongside Jack Nicholson\u00a0<\/strong>in the\u00a0Stanley Kubrick<\/strong>-directed horror classic.<\/p>\n

Shelley passed following complications from diabetes in her home in Blanco, Texas, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>Her longtime partner\u00a0Dan Gilroy\u00a0<\/strong>confirmed the news of her death. Dan shared a brief statement paying tribute to the late actress. \u201cMy dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she\u2019s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,\u201d he told THR.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
