President John F. Kennedy\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>grandson\u00a0Jack Schlossberg<\/strong><\/a> has been named as the new political correspondent by\u00a0Vogue<\/em><\/a>. To mark the new position, the outlet ran an in-depth interview with Jack, 31, whose mom is JFK\u2019s daughter\u00a0Caroline Kennedy<\/strong>. The late president\u2019s only grandson<\/a> opened up about his own political awakening and connection to his family history, as well as showing pieces of his personality.<\/p>\n

Jack<\/a> has amassed a pretty sizeable following (over 93,000 followers) on TikTok, and he regularly mixes silly sketches and vlogs with videos that share political commentary and education. The outlet shared the exciting news that he was joining the team in the introduction to the interview. \u201cToday, Schlossberg joins\u00a0Vogue<\/em> as a political correspondent ahead of the 2024 election, a role that will see him combine his background in law and business (he received his JD and MBA from Harvard) with the self-described \u2018silly goose\u2019 tendencies he displays online,\u201d they noted.<\/p>\n

In the interview, fashion writer\u00a0Hannah Jackson\u00a0<\/strong>asked him about his online presence and why so many people feel a connection to him. Jack admitted that he was simply looking to entertain. \u201cI\u2019m just having a good time. I\u2019m a fun, wacky guy. I\u2019m a silly goose\u2014a silly goose who\u2019s trying, just trying, to get the truth out there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Jack spoke about his family\u2019s political history and called his grandfather his \u201chero.\u201d He spoke about JFK\u2019s impact, and admitted to being \u201cnerdy\u201d about exploring his family history. \u201cI\u2019ve always felt super lucky that there\u2019s this massive historical record about my family that I can learn from. A lot of people don\u2019t get to have that kind of relationship with their ancestors. I\u2019m so lucky for it, and so I try to learn as much as I can from them. I think my grandpa\u2019s speeches are the coolest things ever. His administration actually did so much that\u2019s still with us today, and he inspired a whole generation of people to enter public service\u2014and still does,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Despite anxiety surrounding the 2024 election, Jack admitted that he was taking a hopeful approach to everything, but he did warn that he thinks that things will \u201cactually go badly in daily life<\/a>\u201d if former President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0<\/strong>defeats President\u00a0Joe Biden<\/strong>. Still, he thinks that educating young people help. \u201cThis is a really pivotal moment in history, and it\u2019s such an exciting time to be alive and to be able to vote. I want to get that vibe out there because there\u2019s a lot of negative energy about politics, and I want to bring some positivity out there because this really matters,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
