Chicago indie-rock and folk musician Tasha<\/a> has announced a new album. Her third LP is titled All This and So Much More<\/em><\/a> and arrives September 20 via Bayonet<\/a>. Today, she\u2019s sharing the lead single \u201cThe Beginning,\u201d which comes with a music video directed by none other than Tomberlin<\/a>. In the clip, Tasha goes for a long walk across New York to buy flowers, sits in an empty skatepark, and explores public parks. Watch her slice-of-life video below.<\/p>\n \u201cAs one of the first songs I wrote for this album, \u2018The Beginning\u2019 feels like an introduction to the journey of self-discovery I found myself on throughout the year to come (and in turn, the songs that emerged),\u201d Tasha explained. \u201cWhile the song touches on uncertainty, sadness, and a desire for connection, the very first line\u2014\u2018This is not the end\/it\u2019s just the beginning\u2019\u2014encapsulates the sense of hope and possibility I continued to arrive at after it all. For me, there\u2019s a lingering excitement at the end of Greg Uhlmann\u2019s spinning guitar solo outro\u2014it can be hard to see in the moment, but big endings are so often openings to adventures you haven\u2019t even begun to imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n All This and So Much More<\/em> was produced by Gregory Uhlmann and follows Tasha\u2019s 2021 full-length Tell Me What You Miss the Most<\/em><\/a>. It finds Tasha reflecting on a period of growth up until 2023\u2014right before she joined the Broadway cast of Illinoise<\/em><\/a>, the Tony-winning<\/a> dance musical by Justin Peck based on Sufjan Stevens<\/a>\u2019 2005 album Illinois<\/em><\/a>.
