Two years since the last episode of <\/span>The Ellen Show<\/span><\/i> aired, Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> <\/strong>has announced she is ready to swim away from Hollywood.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 66-year-old recently revealed the news on Monday, July 8, during her \u201cEllen\u2019s Last Stand\u2026Up\u201d tour that took place in Santa Rosa. During a Q&A session, a fan asked the <\/span>Finding Dory<\/span><\/i> actress if she had any future projects they can expect to see, per <\/span>SFGATE<\/span><\/i><\/a> she immediately responded with \u201cUm, no\u2026 This is the last time you\u2019re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I\u2019m done.\u201d She continued, \u201cThank you for still caring!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She became a household name in Hollywood not only for personality on-camera with her succesful talk show, but also for starring in films such as <\/span>Finding Nemo<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Mr.Wrong.<\/span><\/i> Her show first aired in people\u2019s homes back in 2003 and came to an end in 2022 due to Ellen\u2019s behavior on set.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many former employees that once worked with the defamed talk show host told <\/span>Buzzfeed<\/span><\/a> that it was a \u201cnegative environment\u201d and all that they would show on screen was \u201cjust an act.\u201d <\/span>Executive producers Andy Lassner, Ed Galvin, and Mary Connelly<\/strong> stated to the outlet, \u201cOver the course of nearly two decades, 3,000 episodes, and employing over 1000 staff members, we have strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment\u2026We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience. It\u2019s not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us\u2026For the record, the day to day responsibility of the Ellen show is completely on us. We take all of this very seriously and we realize, as many in the world are learning, that we need to do better, are committed to do better, and we will do better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The comedian even joked during her tour performance, \u201cOh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.\u201d She backed herself up later by expressing, \u201cI am many things, but I am not mean.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
