I was just so angry, that I wanted to find a way to get better and win the next time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">Upon receiving her first million-dollar payment, Serena recalled thinking, \u201cOK, I\u2019m gonna go deposit it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">\u201cI went through the drive-thru \u2026 and the guy was like, \u2018Uh, I think you need to come inside for this,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018Oh, OK,&#8217;\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">The Serena Ventures founder \u2014 who shares daughters Olympia and Adira with husband <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/pics\/alexis-ohanian-serena-williams-photos\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><strong>Alexis Ohanian<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 formally retired from tennis in 2022. That year, she opened to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/serena-williams-retirement-in-her-own-words\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"><em>Vogue<\/em><\/a> about her decision to leave the sport.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">\u201cThese days, if I have to choose between building my tennis r\u00e9sum\u00e9 and building my family, I choose the latter,\u201d Serena explained. \u201cI definitely don\u2019t want to be pregnant again as an athlete.
