Production decreased by a little over 20,000 units <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/ir.tesla.com\/press-release\/tesla-vehicle-production-deliveries-and-date-financial-results-webcast-first-quarter-2024\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:compared to quarter one;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">compared to quarter one<\/a>, but deliveries increased by nearly 15 percent. However, its distribution numbers are 4.8 percent lower than the same period in 2023. Tesla notes it &#8220;deployed 9.4 GWh of energy storage products in Q2, the highest quarterly deployment yet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/tesla-sees-ev-deliveries-drop-year-over-year-for-the-first-time-since-2020-153020454.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:car manufacturer's first quarter of 2024;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">car manufacturer&#8217;s first quarter of 2024<\/a> was the first time since 2020 that the company reported a year-over-year sales drop. The car manufacturer blamed the decrease partly on &#8220;the early phase of the production ramp of the updated <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018-03-01-tesla-model-3-review.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Model 3;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Model 3<\/a> at our Fremont factory and factory shutdowns resulting from shipping diversions caused by the Red Sea conflict and an arson attack at Gigafactory Berlin.&#8221; A group of people called &#8220;Volcano Group&#8221; claimed responsibility for cutting the power to Tesla&#8217;s factory outside Berlin. The plant is Tesla&#8217;s only one in Europe and had to close for a week while power was restored.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, on April 1 Tesla increased the price of every Model Y in the US by $1,000, but we&#8217;ll have to wait until July 23 to see if it impacted the company&#8217;s Q2 financial results.
