The well-known Crown & Anchor British Pub has permanently closed on E. Tropicana Blvd. after nearly three decades.<\/p>\n

Crown & Anchor was known for its drinks (including 30 draughts), food, video poker and love of soccer, along with the fact it was open 24\/7. Oh, and some nonsense about being haunted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another Crown & Anchor (referred to as \u201cLittle Crown & Anchor Pub\u201d), at 4755 Spring Mountain Rd., will remain in operation.<\/p>\n

Crown & Anchor closed sans notice or fanfare on July 2, 2024.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s been no official acknowledgement of the closure in the restaurant\u2019s social media. A call to the establishment confirmed the closure.<\/p>\n

A post on Crown & Anchor\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> on July 1, 2024 gave no signal the restaurant would close the following day.<\/p>\n

It was business as usual, until it wasn\u2019t.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From the Crown & Anchor Web site, \u201cWe have been a Las Vegas social institution and tradition for over 20 years. In 1995, Crown & Anchor Pub was created with the love and labor of friends and relatives to create a traditional British pub\u2013but with a Las Vegas flair. With its open spaces, nooks and crannies, two lofts, dark woods, and traditional pub decor, it looked the part. After 20 years of gifts and trinkets from customers, it\u2019s got an unmatched, personalized patina.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reviews for Crown & Anchor<\/a> weren\u2019t stellar, but they weren\u2019t bad. Yelp sat a 3.7 stars out of five. TripAdvisor<\/a> gave the restaurant four out of five dots. Then again, they were kind of hamstrung having to serve British food. Yeah, we said it.<\/p>\n

Vegas is chockablock with gutted expats right about now. Note: There\u2019s a good chance we\u2019re using several of those words incorrectly.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The vibe we got on the phone was everyone\u2019s bummed at Crown & Anchor, understandably.<\/p>\n
