The interview includes both quotes from Sega\u2019s team and some brief instances of game footage.<\/p>\n<p>Series producer Kenji Kanno confirmed that the reboot will be playable by many people at once, though the company is still testing the game mechanics. The goal, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/new-crazy-taxi-title-will-be-an-open-world-massively-multiplayer-aaa-game-according-to-sega\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to a translation by Automaton;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em><\/em><\/a>, is to maintain the feel of the original franchise entries while incorporating MMO elements. To that end, the footage shows multiple yellow taxis racing one another with police cars in pursuit. The reboot has previously been described as a AAA title, so Sega is putting a whole bunch of resources behind it. Based on one <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/hrmos.co\/pages\/sega\/jobs?category=2010249489979686912\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:job recruitment page;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">job recruitment page<\/a>, the game is being developed in Unreal Engine.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of an open-world <em>Crazy Taxi<\/em> makes perfect sense, as it already was basically a precursor to GTA and the like. The MMO aspect, however, could be annoying or it could be amazing. We won\u2019t know until it comes out.<\/p>\n<p>This reboot is just one of Sega\u2019s upcoming visits to the nostalgia well. The company recently announced that it\u2019s breaking out many dusty IPs <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/sega-is-resurrecting-its-classics-including-jet-set-radio-crazy-taxi-and-golden-axe-022041470.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:to work on modern versions;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>. These include <em>Crazy Taxi<\/em>, of course, but also <em>Golden Axe<\/em>, <em>Jet Set Radio<\/em>, <em>Shinobi<\/em> and <em>Streets of Rage<\/em>.
